Your WIKA newsletter "We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails". (Aristotle)
Welcome to our first newsletter in 2021. As normal, we would like to present the latest products, brochures, videos, blog posts and current topics from WIKA.
We hope you enjoy reading it and we wish you a pleasant and relaxed Easter.
Your newsletter editorial team | | | | | | 1. Participation in trade shows in the new year Take the opportunity and attend the Hannover Messe 2021 Digital Edition from 12 to 16 April – our experts are waiting for you with many innovations and exciting lectures. You can get all the details and a voucher for a free admission ticket via the WIKA website.
From 15 to 16 June, we will also be taking part in Achema PULSE, the leading digital event for the process industry, with an extensive programme of presentations.
We look forward to your (virtual) visit! | | | 2. 75 years of WIKA 2021 is a special year for us at WIKA, as we celebrate our 75th anniversary. Founded in 1946 as a pressure gauge factory, our family-run group of companies is now one of the leading global players in industrial measurement technology.
On this occasion, we would like to invite you to join us on a journey through time and look back at our most important milestones. | | | 3. WIKA helps in the fight against COVID-19 The vaccine BNT162b2 developed by BioNTech/Pfizer is currently being produced in Puurs, Belgium. Measuring instruments from WIKA ensure the safe transport of the active ingredients.
The CPG1500, mounted to a 990.22 clamp diaphragm seal, is ideally suited for this purpose, since the diaphragm seal system monitors the overpressure in the transport container during the transport of the active ingredient between the individual production steps. The built-in data logger can monitor that there are no leaks during transport and so any contamination can be ruled out. | | | 4. With force measurement to the perfect spot weld In highly automated processes, manufacturers invest millions to make each manufacturing step as cost-effective and as high-quality as possible. One such example is the spot welding of car bodies, where the ideal spot weld depends on three factors: the voltage, the process duration and also the contact force, which, however, has rarely been measured till now.
WIKA enables the measurement of this directly in the force flow, since the model F2303 tension/compression force transducer in a specific design, with its integrated swivel head, is made for welding tongs. Thanks to the thin-film technology with WIKA electronics, even the high welding currents are no problem. | | | 5. Hygienic pressure measurement The model PG43SA-S flush diaphragm pressure gauge from WIKA in hygienic design with vent valve has been specifically designed for cleaning from outside (wash-down) with particularly aggressive chemical cleaning agents, e.g. in pharmaceutical cabinet washers. With IP68 ingress protection, no media can intrude into the case during cleaning. | | | 6. Field service for temperature applications Short downtimes and process safety are fundamental factors in petrochemical applications with respect to cost savings and reputation. Our experienced service team will take care of service requests on your site.

WIKA measuring instruments in customer-specific designs WIKA's products are not only available in a wide range of different standard designs, but can also be tailored precisely to the customer's needs – even from small quantities.
WIKA stands by your side as a competent partner, whether it is for the adaptation of existing instruments, the development of new individual products or for private labelling.
Learn more about the topic of customising in our new video. | | | 8. NovAseptic® compatibility: Diaphragm seal systems with TRI-CLAMP® connection Diaphragm seal systems with TRI-CLAMP® connection are widely used in sanitary applications. During the process, however, a dead space can arise due to air inclusions or gas bubbles, which is why an increased cleaning effort is necessary to minimise the risk potential.
NovAseptic® connection pieces, which can be combined with any diaphragm seal system from WIKA with a conventional TRI-CLAMP® connection, are a hygienic alternative. | | | 9. Invitation to our new webinar On 25 March 2021 at 10:00 AM our webinar "The transformation of drive elements from the tried and tested to the clean and efficient" will take place. In it our experts present what environmental protection has to do with the electrical transformation of your drive technology and how WIKA can support you on this path with the right measurement technology.
