Your WIKA newsletter "The future depends on what we do in the present." – Mahatma Gandhi
Welcome to our first newsletter in 2020. Spring is approaching and, as it is in the garden, the same it is with us: "We harvest what we sow", so we have a lot planned and, of course, we're carrying interesting topics from the WIKA world in our luggage.
New products and numerous exhibitions, where we will be present, are waiting for you.
Enjoy reading our news.
We wish you and your family a happy Easter. Your newsletter editorial team | | | | | | 1. WIKA participation in current exhibitions It's all there! Results often arise through dialogue – Make use of the opportunity to discuss your applications with our experts. We would like to present you our innovations and solutions on the WIKA stand at the MSR special exhibition in Frankfurt (25 March), at Control in Stuttgart (5 - 8 May) and also at the MSR-Spezialmesse in Leverkusen (27 May). Of course, on your request, we will also send you a complimentary entrance voucher.
Postponement of Hannover Messe 2020 Due to the Corona virus, the Deutsche Messe AG has postponed the Hannover Messe 2020 to July (13 - 17 July 2020). We support this decision and will present you our wide range of innovations at this unusual time of year.
The exhibition team will be pleased to welcome you to our stand! | | | 2. Development centre: Investment in the future The construction of the new building at the main site in Klingenberg is progressing rapidly and the preparations for the interior work are already in full swing.
The new complex, which should be ready for occupancy in the second half of 2020, consists of three interconnected building blocks on an open-plan ground floor. In front of it will be a further part of the building for reception, training facilities and administration.
We look forward to a new chapter in the company's history. | | | 3. Measurement technology for industrial gases Whether in metal processing, water treatment or manufacturing applications: Modern industrial and medical gas supply technologies enable us to store, distribute and use compressed and liquefied air and chemical gases efficiently and sustainably.
To meet these challenges, WIKA offers a comprehensive range of measuring instruments to cover a wide range of requirements. You too can benefit from our services. With our new brochure, you will receive an overview of our products and services. We will be pleased to assist you with any questions you may have. | | | 4. Monoblocks: Robust and space-saving The models IBM2 and IBM3, with two different types of valve, are available with 90° angled connections, ball valves and/or needle valves. The model IBM is suitable for tight mounting situations and operating pressures up to 10,000 psi (690 bar). First and foremost, an upstream protective function is fulfilled. Depending on the application, the monoblock is available in a double block & bleed or block & bleed version.
The IBS3 and IBJ4 monoblocks in double block & bleed support the control and regulation of media properties. Valve arrangement as well as length and materials of the probe depend on the application. With the model IBJ, a non-return valve is integrated which prevents bidirectional flow during the injection process.
Monoblocks with ball valves also have a redundant polymer-metal sealing system with a tested leak tightness in accordance with BS 6755 / ISO 5208 leak rate A. | | | 5. Temperature dry-well calibrator: Stable and user-friendly The three versions of the CTD4000 control in temperature ranges of -24 … 650 °C and, due to their DNV approval, are also suitable for offshore applications.
The CTD4000 series features a high stability and simple handling. In addition, the low weight and compact design facilitate on-site use. Combined with all of our measuring instruments, it is very easy to achieve different levels of accuracy.
Speak to us and try it for yourself. | | | 6. Contact pressure gauges vs. pressure switches The basic task of contact pressure gauges, mechanical pressure and temperature switches and thermometers with switch contacts is the monitoring of limit values. If previously defined values are dropped below or exceeded, alarms are triggered which automatically switch off the process.
But what are the differences between these measuring instruments? We clarify these and other advantages in our new video. | | | 7. Force measurement recognised with innovation award At Motek in October last year, the "handling award" was presented for the 6th time. This is now the festive highlight of the trade fair in Stuttgart. 12 winners in four categories were selected by the expert jury.
Bosch Rexroth AG received an award in the "Components for handling and assembly" category for its electromechanical "Smart Function Kit" for pressing and joining applications. The assembly set consists of several components – one of these contains the F2304 tension/compression force transducer. | | | 8. Order your measurement technology around the clock In order to always be able to offer the right solution for your requirements in the future, we have expanded our online shop offering with another measurement parameter.
The new force portfolio includes compression force transducers, bending and shear beams through to inclination sensors, electronics and accessories. Benefit now from quality direct from the manufacturer and order your measuring instruments easily and conveniently in the WIKA online shop.

Monoflanges combine the function of up to three valves in a particularly compact form, thanks to a precise network of internal passages and valve chambers. But what really happens inside a monoflange valve, once installed?
