Following on from their meeting, IRU briefed the logistics sector on safety and professionalisation at a major industry event in Riyadh. FedEx Express joins move to TIR in GCC region FedEx Express has completed its first TIR operation in the GCC, transporting goods from Dubai to Dammam. The TIR truck seamlessly crossed the Batha border in Saudi Arabia in just four hours. Iran and IRU focus on further expanding transit and trade In light of Iran’s growing role in regional trade, IRU Secretary General Umberto de Pretto and Iran’s public and private sectors held high-level talks on avenues for further expansion. Luxembourg: the challenges of decarbonising passenger mobility Georges Hilbert, CEO of Sales-Lentz, told IRU that the lack of alternative fuels infrastructure is challenging, especially as coach travel remains without proper alternatives to diesel. The European Parliament has voted for an ambitious and comprehensive alternative fuels infrastructure regulation. 44% Figure of the month In November’s figure of the month, we look at truck driver jobs and what’s behind “44%”.
