WIKA participation in trade shows during autumn 2022 Over the coming weeks you'll again have the opportunity, at various events, to get to know more about our new products and to talk to our experts about your specific measuring requirements.
Next month you will find us at Chillventa in Nuremberg (11 - 13 Oct), the EHEDG World Congress in Munich (12 - 13 Oct), bauma in Munich (24 - 30 Oct) and MSR special trade show in Bochum (26 Oct). In November we will be attending ERTC in Berlin (7 - 10 Nov) and at SPS in Nuremberg (8 - 10 Nov).
Have a look at your calendar and plan your trade show visits – a visit to WIKA will pay off! We will be happy to send you a free ticket voucher on request. | | | 2. Complete IIoT solutions: From the sensor to the application The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is a leading technology that helps to optimise communication between machinery and create a clear picture of how the equipment is working, by networking numerous devices and equipment via the internet.
WIKA offers complete solutions from the sensor to the final application, which brings about numerous advantages: Automated alarms when critical values are reached, early detection of critical situations due to special monitoring algorithms, as well as time savings and process optimisation.
Would you like more details and advantages on the subject of IIoT? Further information can be found on our website. | | | 3. Hydrogen: Challenges and applications Hydrogen applications have been used in the process industry for decades. Especially in refineries, in methanol and ammonia production and in the direct reduction in steel production the demand is high. When processing hydrogen, the instruments used are exposed to extreme conditions.
As a proven partner to the hydrogen industry, WIKA offers solutions for the entire value chain. These prevent embrittlement, permeation and leakage. More information on hydrogen and other topics can be found under the new "Solutions" menu on our website. | | | 4. Hygienic bimetal thermometer The new TG58SA thermometer has been specifically designed for the requirements of sanitary applications. Due to its ASME BPE-compliant design, it meets the 3-A Sanitary Standard and thus has EHEDG and ATEX approval.
The thermometer features a bimetal coil in the stem as well as the easy cleanability of the case and the wetted parts. In addition to the hygienic properties, the robust design also ensures safety. The thermometer offers a high overtemperature resistance. Its shatterproof window is also UV-resistant. | | | 5. New high-pressure ball valve and new shut-off valve for pipelines Whether in the process industry, machine building or automation, the new model HPBV ball valve from WIKA, for high-pressure applications up to 20,000 psi (1,379 bar), is designed for a wide variety of applications, available with various bores and thus enables bidirectional flow.
A new shut-off valve for pipelines, tailored for applications in the process industry, has been added to the portfolio. The PBV-FS with flange connection is suitable for controlling media flow, for the combination with pressure measuring instruments and as a connection between piping systems. | | | 6. IIoT solutions for switchgear WEgrid Solutions is committed to the protection of people, machinery and the environment. A significant step in this mission is the digitalisation of switchgear monitoring. Whether medium or high voltage, SF6 or air insulated, we support you in your digital transformation and offer intelligent overall solutions.
Online monitoring of the insulating gas, partial discharge and conductor temperature in your switchgear is the core of WEgrid Asset Protection. Our state-of-the-art sensors communicate constantly with a data centre that analyses the transmitted values and alerts you if a critical threshold is exceeded. | | | 7. SF6 competence training Based around the EU regulation on fluorinated greenhouse gases, as a recognised testing and certification body we now also offer support in the field of SF6 – in terms of competence training. Responsible and traceable use of SF6 gas is, due to the strong climate impact, an important topic worldwide, so we include the applicable regulations in our training.
Interested? Why not take a look at our current SF6 training programme! | | | 8. New online program for wake frequency calculation The Excel version of the wake frequency calculation in accordance with ASME PTC 19.3 TW-2016, which has proven itself for over 20 years, has been made fit for the future. The increased security requirements of external users make it more difficult to use third-party software with VBA macros for fear of malware. The new online version of the successful WIKA software solves this problem. Simple, self-explanatory handling, a clear front-end and the implementation of all necessary functions are features of the new online program.
Basically, the online program is divided into two parts. On the one hand, there is a freely available version with a functionality limited to the essentials for the calculation of a single thermowell (single calculation). On the other hand, after registration and verification of the user, the full version of the wake frequency calculation is available, which enables the simultaneous calculation of any number of thermowells (multiple calculation). | | | 9. Pressure switch in hydrogen-powered train ensures safety The first trains with H2 fuel cells are already in use in rail transport, but are still little known to the public. Within the scope of pressure monitoring, pressure switches perform the central safety function of the H2 supply system during the journey.
Read our complete blog post to find out why pressure switches from WIKA play a crucial role in newly developed hydrogen trains. Not a subscriber yet?
