Your newsletter editorial team | | | | | | 1. WIKA participation in trade shows in spring 2022 Over the coming weeks you'll again have the opportunity, at various events, to get to know more about our new products.
You'll find us at MSR special trade show in Frankfurt (23 March), Anuga FoodTec in Cologne (26 – 29 April), Control in Stuttgart (03 – 06 May), Expo-Lounges in Karlsruhe (17 – 19 May) and MSR special trade show in Halle-Leipzig (18 May).
We will be happy to welcome you at our stand! | | | 2. Development centre: Innovation process across 24,100 m2 With an area of 24,100 m2, the new development centre at the main site in Klingenberg has been completed and now brings together all departments involved in the innovation process. The facility enables new products and solutions for a wide range of measured variables to be brought to market readiness within a short time.
In 2022, around 50 jobs have been planned to reinforce the personnel in the development department. Furthermore, WIKA is also investing continuously in the expansion of its production sites worldwide. The group of companies has a total of 43 subsidiaries and more than 10,000 employees. | | | 3. Sustainability: generationally and environmentally friendly Sustainable development is important in order that future generations can also share in finite resources. WIKA already complies with all national and international environmental legislation. In addition to the highest quality, continuous attention is also paid to energy savings in manufacturing. New buildings, for example, take energy efficiency into account and integrate thermal recovery systems.
Not only do we want to look back at what we have already mastered, but also set ourselves new goals for the future. With the new sustainability concept, we want to be a role model, because sustainability is a topic that affects everyone. Visit our website to find out more about sustainability at WIKA. | | | 4. Diaphragm seals for very hot process temperatures up to 450 °C The new high-temperature diaphragm seal is combined with a capillary and a standard measuring instrument, without any additional cooling element, to form a measuring system. Its lower body, including flange connection, is made of a single piece, which minimises the risk of leakage.
Customer-specific seal geometries simplify the connection of the diaphragm seal to the process. The new instrument can be fitted with fixtures for a lifting aid, so it can be moved and installed effortlessly. Integrated flushing connections also enable the diaphragm seal to be cleaned without dismounting. | | | 5. EMICOgauge pressure measuring system protects people and the environment The EMICOgauge (emission control gauge) features the assembly of a 232.30 or 233.30 pressure gauge in a safety version in accordance with EN 837-1 (S3) and a valve to prevent fugitive emissions. An easily rotating adapter with a special sealing packing connects the measuring instrument and the valve.
In the event of a fault due to high overpressure, the S-3 safety version protects the user from injury. The S-3 pressure gauges can be combined with the following valves in fugitive emission design to form EMICOgauges: Model IVM monoflange as well as model IV1x and IV2x (block & bleed) needle valves. | | | 6. How are thermowells calculated? Wake frequency calculations are nowadays part of every design of an industrial plant, since they fulfil an important task. They protect the temperature sensor as well as the personnel and the environment. Thermowells are very durable, but under critical conditions they can vibrate, which can cause the thermowell to break off.
Wake frequency calculations can solve this problem. In the case of a negative result, there are two ways to optimise the strength of a thermowell. These are explained in more detail in our new video.
We say thank you – thank you for now more than 10,000 subscribers on our YouTube channel. We appreciate every like, every comment and of course every additional subscriber. We are pleased that our videos are helpful and that people are enjoying watching them. | | | 7. Extending the accreditation for force In order to be able to guarantee process reliability, among other things, large amounts of test equipment are calibrated at defined intervals. The scope of accreditation in the WIKA Group for the measured variable of force has now also been extended to include DAkkS calibration certificates, which are traceable and accredited in accordance with ISO 17025.
The calibration is made in a measuring range of 50 N … 500 N and 1 kN … 200 kN with a measurement uncertainty of 0.1 % in tension and compression force direction in accordance with DKD-R 3-3 and DIN EN ISO 376 (calibration certificate per ISO 17025). Furthermore, in the measuring range of 50 N … 6 MN, with a system accuracy of 0.5 % in tension and compression force direction, a 3.1 inspection certificate in accordance with DIN EN 10204 can be issued.
Talk to us – we look forward to your enquiry. | | | 8. Be there – Calibration seminar 2022 This year, WIKA is again offering a calibration seminar. Find out more about the calibration of pressure and temperature measuring instruments.
You can register easily via our website. We look forward to your registration for the calibration seminar in May 2022 and to welcoming you to the laboratories in our headquarters in Klingenberg. | | | 9.
